Kellyrae was crowned the winner of this year’s Big Brother Naija Season 9 on Sunday, securing the grand prize of N60 million, an SUV, and various other rewards.
He edged out fellow housemate Wanni, who finished as the runner-up, and Onyeka, who took third place.
Kellyrae now joins the ranks of last season’s All-Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya (Gen Z Baddie), as a recipient of the grand prize.
Considered Nigeria’s most highly anticipated television show, this season’s theme, “No Loose Guard,” premiered on July 24, 2024, featuring 14 pairs of housemates. Ultimately, only one pair and six individual contestants reached the finals.
The other finalists were Victoria, Ozee, Sooj, Nelly, and Anita.
This year’s edition introduced an unconventional twist, requiring participants to apply in pairs.
Among the eight finalists, Kellyrae, Victoria, and Wanni were viewed as favorites by many to secure top three positions and claim spots on the final podium.
The finale was a star-studded event, showcasing performances by popular artists Joseph Akinfewa-Donus, known as Joeboy, and Chimamanda Chukwuma, widely recognized as Qing Madi.
