On Thursday night, suspected bandits invaded Zone A (Back of Primary School) in the Ushafa community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), resulting in the death of a man named Mr. Felix Chuks and the abduction of his entire family.
The man was fatally shot when bandits invaded his home on Thursday night, August 29, 2024.

A police source has confirmed the incident but has not provided further details.
Residents reported that attempts to contact the vigilantes during the assault were unsuccessful, as those on duty were not responding to calls, likely due to the intense gunfire from the bandits.
While the exact motive for Mr. Chuks’s killing remains unclear, there are indications that he may have resisted the attackers. “The bandits arrived when everyone was asleep. It seems the man was not compliant, which led to his death,” a local source told AFRIPOST.
According to the report, while the abductors initially demanded a ransom of N11 billion, only N1.048 billion was ultimately paid.
The Back of Primary School in Ushafa has gained notoriety for such attacks; a similar incident occurred a few months ago, where bandits killed a man and abducted his pregnant wife and children.
It is worth noting that no arrests have been made following the previous abduction.
Efforts to reach FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful, as her phone line was consistently engaged.
At the time of this report, a large community meeting in Ushafa was underway, convened to discuss the recent incident.
The report attributed the increase in kidnappings for ransom to economic stagnation, highlighting that kidnappers are now targeting a wider array of individuals. They typically begin with high ransom demands, which are later reduced to amounts that families or social organizations can manage.
