Officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Reports indicate that he was arrested this morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Ajaero was in the process of boarding a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment when he was apprehended by the DSS.
While the specifics of the arrest and the reasons behind it remain unclear, sources indicate that he has been transferred to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
According to reports, Ajaero was scheduled to attend the Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference in the UK taking place today.
