President Bola Tinubu is set to inaugurate several newly completed projects at the University of Ilorin during its 39th convocation ceremonies scheduled for October 22.
Additionally, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, will deliver the Convocation Lecture on Friday, October 18, 2024, as part of the events celebrating the institution’s 39th convocation.

This information was shared in a press statement released on Saturday by the University Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun. He further noted that the convocation ceremonies will commence with a Press Briefing by the Vice Chancellor on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the University Auditorium, starting at 10:00 a.m.
“This will be followed on Friday, October 18, 2024, by the Convocation Lecture, entitled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria”, to be delivered by Chief Fagbemi at the University Auditorium by 9.45 a.m.”, Mr Akogun said.
He mentioned that on the same day, the Convocation Play titled “Nilee Wa’ (In Our Land)” will take place at the institution’s Performing Arts Theatre.
According to the announcement, the main convocation events are scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2024, and Tuesday, October 22, 2024, for graduates of the ‘4 Year’ and ‘5 Year’ programs, as well as the Postgraduate School, respectively.
Additionally, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Visitor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is anticipated to inaugurate several newly completed projects at the University.
