President Bola Tinubu has commended the military for their successful operation that resulted in the elimination of Halilu Sububu, a notorious bandit leader responsible for terrorizing communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other regions in the Northwest. In a statement released on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed that Sububu’s death, along with that of other terrorists, demonstrates the Nigerian military’s capability to ensure the security of the nation.
“The success of the operations gives further assurance that our security operatives are up to the task of ensuring the peace and security of the nation,” Onanuga said.
Onanuga reported that the successful operations were a result of the President’s instruction to the service chiefs to remain in the area until stability is restored.
President Tinubu praised the military leadership, intelligence agencies, and troops for their “courageous efforts, collaboration, and commitment, which have led to the recent commendable achievements.”
He also praised the entire security framework for enhancing safety across the nation and urged them to maintain their efforts until both immediate and underlying threats are eradicated.
The President assured the security agencies of his ongoing support in their primary goal of ensuring the nation’s safety and security.
